Wordle Helper
Rebuild your Wordle grid below: click a tile to cycle it through grey, yellow and green to match what the real game showed you, and we'll list every possible 5-letter answer left. There are exactly five tiles because every Wordle answer is five letters — that's fixed by the game itself, not a limit of this tool.
How to use the Wordle helper
Type your last guess into the five boxes, then click each tile to match its colour in the real game: green means that letter is correct and in that exact spot, yellow means it's in the word but in a different spot, grey means it's not in the word at all. If you've tried more than one guess, use the ruled-out letters box for greys from earlier rows that aren't shown above. Hit search and you'll get every word left that fits.
A few Wordle strategy tips
Open with a word that uses common, distinct letters — something like a mix of vowels and frequent consonants tells you the most in one guess. Avoid repeating letters in your first guess so you learn about five different letters at once.
Once you've got a yellow, don't discard that letter — just try it in a different position next guess. And remember a letter can appear twice in the answer even if your guess only showed one coloured tile for it, so don't rule out doubles too early.
Frequently asked questions
- Does this give me today's actual Wordle answer?
- No — it narrows down the list of words that fit the clues you enter, the same way you'd reason it out yourself, just faster. It doesn't know or fetch the daily answer.
- What if a letter appears twice in my guess?
- Set the colour for each occurrence separately — if you guessed a word with a repeated letter, colour each of those two tiles according to what the game showed for that specific tile.
- Why are there no results?
- Double check your tile colours match exactly what the game showed, and that you haven't marked a letter both green/yellow and also added it to the ruled-out box. If it still comes up empty, the answer may not be in this tool's word list yet.
